Our Project Development Manager, Tom Motland & Project Manager Neil Shaw recently attended a three day training seminar offered by the National Association of Church Design Builders (NACBD) in Dallas, TX. After completing all the necessary requirements Tom and Neil are proud to have become Certified Church Consultants. When combined with our unprecedented experience in church construction it makes MCNW the logical place to begin your next church project!

Greg Gagnon, MCNW Project Manager, recently attended a seminar held by the Lean Construction Institute. Lean Construction is a production management-based approach to project delivery. The reliable release of work between specialists in design, supply and assembly ensures value is delivered to the customer and waste is reduced. Lean Construction is particularly useful on complex, uncertain and quick projects. It challenges the belief that there must always be a trade between time, cost and quality.

Neil Shaw, LEED Green Associate, and a Project Manager at Merit Construction Northwest, has recently earned his LEED Green Associate from the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System (LEED). LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of environmentally sustainable buildings.

Merit Construction Northwest became a sustaining member of the Society of American Military Engineers (S.A.M.E.) in January 2010. The mission of the Society of American Military Engineers is to promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public and private sector engineers, and related professionals.

Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal - Merit Construction Northwest is currently working on the Printing Plant Expansion at the Federal Way Facility. This is an occupied and functional facility and the press has continued to operate at full capacity while we are completing this project.

Merit Construction Northwest will soon be breaking ground on our 11th branch for America's Credit Union in Yelm. This project will begin in May. We are excited to be working with America's Credit Union once again.

Stroh's Feed and Garden Supply has selected Merit Construction Northwest as their General Contractor for their new 30,000 sq ft. building in Gig Harbor. Crews broke ground in November 2010 and the project will be completed in September 2011. Wilco will occupy the building but it will remain a farm and feed supply.

Columbia Presbyterian has chosen Merit Construction Northwest for their church addition and renovations in Vancouver, Washington. We are partnering with BCRA Architects on this team-build project.

B708 Repair Warehouse Building - The Department of Defense has recently awarded Merit Construction Northwest the contract for structural and architectural upgrades to the B708 Warehouse, located on the Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
