Merit Construction performed the renovation of the former North Mason School District Administration building with Erickson-McGovern Architects. Merit worked with the Boys & Girls Club of South Puget Sound board members John Franich, Katie Hopkins, and Jeff Woodworth to coordinate the work. The building consisted of approximately 18,000 SF with the renovation portion consisting of approximately 11,000 SF. The project was completed in 2 phases, the first being the classrooms and the second being the kitchen. Phase 1 consisted of new walls, drywall, painting and flooring. New rubber floor tiles, carpet tiles, and sheet vinyl in the kitchen. The kitchen work consisted of new roof top exhaust hood, new gas range, refrigerator, ice maker, and stainless steel counters and range hood. There was also 5 new emergency exit (doors) that were cut in and installed with 1300 SF of sidewalks. Other exterior work included removal of existing bushes and small trees, new painting, gutters, topsoil and hydroseeding.

Merit had a wonderful time working with an amazing group, Katie, John, and Jeff and the project was completed on time and under budget.

Merit Construction completed a renovation that created program spaces and a commercial kitchen in an aged building that is now the new home for our North Mason Teen Center. The team at Merit worked closely with our project management team to ensure we stayed within our budget and overcame the many challenges that come with renovating an aged building. Their quality of work and dedication to the project far exceeded our expectations.
