Senior Project Manager
Merit Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager
Job Description:
At Merit, the Project Manager is the lead on our project team. You will be responsible for managing our Project Engineers, Superintendents, and sub contractors through projects, with direct accountability for project delivery. At Merit, a successful Project Manager combines construction knowledge and a love for building, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Role/Function:
Manages all facets of the project including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk
Develop a high performing project team with training, mentoring, feedback, and delegation
Foster a strong working relationship with the client, subcontractors, and your team members
May work with Preconstruction team on project development
Manage and oversee field operations
Manage budget and financial reporting
Review submittals prior to the architect review, final review after all parties have reviewed
Support PE in working with architect and subcontractors or suppliers with changes or revisions
Review pay applications for correct percentage complete, change orders, and dollar figures
Work with architect and superintendent in getting final inspections signed off and substantial completion letter issued
Review MS Projects schedule weekly with superintendent, and support progress updates and three week look-a-head development
Provide site with permit and permit drawings
Conducts contract writing and all written communication with the client in regards to changes, financial implications and schedule conflicts or impacts
Qualifications/Skills:
Must Have:
Experience: 5+ years experience in construction industry as a Project Manager
Strong work ethic and excellent oral and written communication skills
Be able to work as a team while leading Superintendent and Project Engineers
Thorough attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Skilled in conflict/resolution management
Skilled in contract negotiation
Preferred:
Education: High school diploma. Degree/education in Construction Management or comparable experience
Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, Blue Beam, and Sage (Highly Preferred)
Experience with formal writing practices. (Highly Preferred)
Experience with construction contract review (Highly Preferred)
