Merit Construction was selected to expand the printing press line for Dow Jones & Company where The Wall Street Journal is printed. Our team worked extensively with the Production Manager to create a detailed construction schedule to accommodate their plant operations and printing cycles. Merit carefully removed selected existing steel and concrete structures from above the functioning press line. New steel columns and beams were installed for an expanded roof to allow taller equipment to be installed. Detailed planning and coordination were required to work around and above the press equipment. Special care was devoted to keep workers safe as well as not allowing construction materials or debris to come in contact with the press equipment. Merit Construction is proud to be the preferred contractor for Dow Jones & Company over the last 17 years.

Despite owner related delays at the onset and midpoint of the project, costing you weeks of lost time, meticulous and innovative planning by you and your staff brought the project to completion in accordance with the original required deadline which allowed us to move forward with our product initiatives as planned. Thanks again for another job well done.
