Neighborhood Clinic
Merit Construction was proud to donate this renovation project to Neighborhood Clinic, a Tacoma nonprofit that provides free medical services to members of the community.
The project involved installing a new door to enclose an existing room that had previously been used for storage and as a children's play area adjacent to the waiting room. Without an enclosed entrance, the space could not be used for patient care or other clinical functions because it did not meet the privacy requirements necessary for HIPAA compliance.
By adding the door, the clinic gained a flexible, private room that can now serve as an office, patient intake area, exam room, or other clinical support space. This simple improvement expands the clinic's ability to care for patients while making better use of its existing footprint.
