Skookum Archers
The project consists of 5,600 sq. ft of site improvements.
The site improvements consist of a new ADA sidewalk, an ADA asphalt ramp, a concrete plaza, a concrete ADA ramp, two new sets of stairs with handrails, three metal bollards, minor fence improvements, and a 3,000-cy infiltration trench to mitigate large weather events. Overall, the project added around 250 lineal feet of ADA pathway starting at the main building and parking lot on the property and ending at the shooting range providing ADA access from the main building and parking lot to the shooting range.
A 1,900 square foot plaza was also constructed providing a pleasant viewing area where
spectators can view archery events. In addition to the plaza being used as a viewing area, it is designed to provide a turnaround location for any emergency vehicles that may come on site. The plaza is easily accessible by way of the ADA asphalt ramp, the use of the two sets of stairs extending off the plaza, and the concrete ADA ramp leading to the shooting range.
Additionally, three bollards were added with Knox Pad Locks to protect a significant portion of the ADA path from vehicles as well as prevent unwanted access to the plaza. Despite the work being completed during the rainy time of the year, the project was completed on schedule and within the original project time frame creating additional access for a well-used facility.
